Please join our next meeting (on Zoom, no in-person meeting) on Tuesday 26 October 2021 where we will have Dr. Arulchelvan Sriram speak on “Need of Media and Information Literacy (MIL) in a MIS/DIS-Information Society”.

The world has a flood of mis/dis-information from various media. It affects different aspects of our life. It includes believing fake information, taking wrong decisions in various issues such as voting, investments, education, technology and medical. Information about Covid-19 vaccines is the best example. Media and Information Literacy can help the people understand what is fake or fact. This MIL empowers people in all walks of life to seek, evaluate, use and create information effectively to achieve their personal, social, occupational and educational goals. It is a basic human right in a digital world and promotes social inclusion of all nations. This presentation will give an in-depth understanding about MIL and related techniques to Rotary Members and Others.

Dr. Arulchelvan specializes in a wide range of communication and development areas such as journalism, news reporting, development communication, community media, educational media and technology.
